Effective monitoring is not about maximising the number of sensors deployed — it is about understanding where to measure, what to measure, and how many instruments are genuinely needed to obtain actionable information. We design monitoring systems for both water distribution and sewer networks, analysing each infrastructure's current state and identifying the most technically and economically efficient solution, with precise guidance on instrumentation selection and installation conditions.
Through a structured process covering the full data lifecycle, we transform raw measurements into information on which decisions can be reliably based.
We build and calibrate hydraulic models of water distribution networks from GIS data and measurement campaigns — a process that now directly benefits from NEWT's capabilities. Water network sectorisation, water balance definition, pressure analysis, and the identification of operational issues are activities we carry out across networks of any scale and complexity, with the aim of delivering concrete project scenarios for leakage reduction and management optimisation.
Across both water treatment and wastewater treatment plants, we develop purpose-built algorithms to optimise electricity and chemical consumption across the various stages of the treatment process. The results translate into lower operational costs, improved environmental performance, and in many cases an extended service life for plant components.
